What's the difference between the Map Pack and the Local Pack?
The Map Pack is your position in Google Maps itself — the full ranked list of businesses. The Local Pack is the small box of three businesses that appears on the main Google search results page for a local query. They're related but separate surfaces, and a business can place differently on each.
AyanaSEO's rank tracking is anchored to your Google Maps position, because it's the fuller, more stable signal — it shows your exact place in the whole ranked list (e.g. #7), not just whether you made the three-result box. Your visibility score and geo-grid are built on this Maps position.
The Local Pack (the box on google.com) is a subset shaped by the same factors — proximity, prominence, relevance — so improving your Maps rank is what moves you toward the Local Pack too. Dedicated Local Pack presence tracking is a separate capability on our roadmap.
In short: work your Maps rank and the things that drive it — reviews, profile completeness, proximity-relevant content — and the Local Pack tends to follow.
