How do I find keywords my competitors rank for that I'm not tracking?

Use Keyword Discovery on the Keywords page. It scans keywords your competitors win in the Google Map Pack that aren't in your tracked 50, and lets you add any of them in one click — so you stop being blind to searches you're not even measuring.

What you'll use: The Discovery panel on the Keywords page — a “Run discovery” button and a findings list, where each finding shows the keyword, which competitors rank for it, and your position (or “not ranking”).

Steps

  1. Go to Dashboard → Keywords and scroll to the Discovery panel.
  2. Click “Run discovery” (available once every 90 days; a quarterly scan also runs automatically).
  3. In a few minutes, findings appear — each is a keyword where 2 or more competitors rank in the Map Pack and you're absent or weak.
  4. Click “Add to tracking” to start monitoring a keyword (it counts toward your 50 — at the cap, remove one first), or “Dismiss” to hide it.
Why this matters: Your 50 keywords were chosen at signup and frozen. Discovery mines your rivals' Google Business categories and services, scans them, and surfaces only the genuine gaps — the searches you'd otherwise never know you're losing. (This is different from the “Where competitors are beating you” panel, which covers keywords you already track.)
