How do I see which competitors are outranking me for a keyword?

Open the Keywords page and read the “Where competitors are beating you” panel. It lists every tracked keyword where one or more competitors rank above you — or where you're not ranking at all — and names exactly who's ahead and at what position.

What you'll use: The “Where competitors are beating you” panel (the keyword-gap list), each row showing your position and the rivals ranking ahead of you.

Steps

  1. Go to Dashboard → Keywords.
  2. Find the “Where competitors are beating you” panel.
  3. Each row is a keyword where you're outranked: it shows your position (or “not ranking”), how many rivals are ahead, and their names and positions.
  4. Pick the most contested keyword and open the page you target for it — make it clearly the best answer (the phrase in the title/H1, fuller copy, photos, a matching Google post), then watch it in your rank history.
Why this matters: This is your climbing list for keywords you already track. To discover keywords you're not tracking at all, use Discovery instead.
